Acies MGU enters marine market with new Ports & Terminals MGA TEDmar International
TEDmar International launches as a Lloyd's-backed Ports & Terminals MGA led by marine market experts Mark Trevitt and Charlie Newman, offering capacity of up to $25m for liability and property damage.

Acies MGU (Acies), a technology and data-driven Managing General Underwriter (MGU), has announced the launch of TEDmar International (TEDmar), a new MGA specialising in Ports & Terminals, led by marine market experts, Mark Trevitt and Charlie Newman.
Trevitt joins as Managing Director and is an internationally recognised marine underwriter with over 35 years' experience in the market. Having previously headed up Ports & Terminal initiatives at Navigators, Travelers Syndicate and IGI, he brings a wealth of Ports & Terminals experience, including Lloyd's Asia in Singapore.
Charlie Newman joins TEDmar as Director of Underwriting. Also previously at IGI, he brings over 10 years' Ports & Terminals experience, including six years at brokers Marsh and JLT.
The new international offering is 100% supported by a consortium of Lloyd's capacity and offers a full package of cover for P&T operators and port authorities. The cover spans liability, property, equipment, and operational risks and provides protection for port property such as buildings, warehouses, and hard standings, handling equipment ranging from forklifts to gantry cranes, and ancillary port craft like pilot cutters.
With capacity up to $25 million for both liability and property damage sections, TEDmar offers a solution that covers business interruption losses and the various operational assets critical to port and terminal functionality.
“TEDmar brings proven expertise to the ports and terminals market, with our team having built three of the largest and most profitable P&T portfolios in London from scratch. We apply a disciplined, individually underwritten approach to this complex market. Our deep understanding of the specialised exposures, from marine professional indemnity to port property and business interruption, positions TEDmar as the new experts serving port authorities, terminal operators, and the broader shipping ecosystem.”
“Acies is keen to establish a strong presence in the marine market, and we're confident that TEDmar offers that first vital step in demonstrating our ability and expertise in this complex market. Mark and Charlie's combined experience and track records speaks for themselves. They are leading experts in marine insurance, and we're looking forward to supporting TEDmar's growth as Acies expands its diverse portfolio of specialist MGAs.”
