Phoenix Specialty Announces Key Leadership Appointment

London, UK – 14th January 2025 – Specialist construction MGA Phoenix Specialty is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Charlton as its new Managing Director, effective immediately, subject to FCA approval. This strategic appointment underscores Phoenix Specialty's commitment to growth and operational excellence in the construction and engineering insurance sector.
Andrew brings extensive industry experience and a proven track record in delivering results. Prior to joining Phoenix Specialty, Andrew played a pivotal role in the development of Consort Technical Underwriting Managers (Consort), established 25 years ago and one of the leading Construction and Engineering underwriting companies in South Africa today. Phoenix Specialty will look to maintain a strong and ongoing relationship with Consort. Andrew's leadership, expertise, and vision make him ideally positioned to steer the business during this exciting phase of transformation and growth.
Tim James, current Managing Director of Phoenix Specialty, will transition into the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Phoenix Global, which oversees international partnerships operating in the Construction and Engineering sector. In this expanded capacity, Tim will oversee the broader strategic direction of the business, focusing on expanding its product offering for the Construction sector, overseas expansion and strengthening Phoenix's presence in international markets. Additionally, Tim will continue to contribute as a Group Board Adviser to Phoenix Specialty's holding company, Vector Investment Capital Holdings, where his insights have already been instrumental in shaping initiatives across the Group.
These leadership changes reflect the strategic investments of Vector Investment Capital Holdings and Acies MGU, in both talent and business development, reinforcing Phoenix Specialty's position as a market leader in construction and engineering insurance.
